First Attempt at Artificial Intelligence (AI)

As someone who has had a life-long interest in drawing and photography, I was excited to be invited to try Adobe’s Artificial Intelligence image generating software Firefly. The program is in Beta format so nothing is “owned” by the users at this point and everything generated under the Beta is restricted from commercial use. I have been using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for years and they are top-notch products.

Adobe Firefly Introductory Video

One thing I have come to appreciate about Adobe and their evangelists such as Terry White, is their constant work towards creating a better product and end-user experience. That is why I patiently waited for Adobe’s entrance into the Artificial Intelligence (AI) realm. It is not currently the leader in this field, but I have a strong feeling that they will eventually be one of the best.

I am also excited to be able to learn as I go and provide valid feedback to enable the Adobe team to continue to make improvements and enhancements. To quote Jim VandeHei from Axios, “We’re on the doorstep of a new age — don’t be a bystander.”

With that being said, this is my first attempt at producing a Text to Image picture. I encourage anyone who is interested to give it a try. You will have to have an Adobe ID. Click HERE for complete details regarding how to access the Beta version of Adobe Firefly.

SignEdge: Dirty Driving

You might have read the story of my first off-roading experience HERE. I came to realize that there is a strong culture among off-roaders and they are fiercely protective of their passion for seeing hard-to-reach places.

Among those who share this hobby/sport there is apparently a subclass of women off-roaders who have a very spunky attitude.

While I was shopping the other day, a large purple Jeep caught my eye. The color was very unusual and it had a number of decals on the rear window. Among those decals was one that said “Super Girl.”

Upon closer inspection, I found the following attitudinal off-roading images:

“Buckle up I Want to Try Something”

“Don’t Follow Me You Won’t Make It”

And my favorite…

“Yours May Go Fast But Mine Can Go Anywhere”

Humor: Going from Point to Point

Noted Cartoonist, Gary Larson has re-released much of his Far Side cartoon collection. For those who don’t know, he takes a somewhat skewed look at the world in which we live. Another characteristic of his humor is his frequent use of animals and “play” on common themes, ideas and trends.

The cartoon below is one good example of his style of visual quips.

Dogs that Are Scaredy Cats

Almost everyone knows the phrase – “The bigger they come, the harder they fall.” Watching this video you can witness this platitude in action.

Cats and dogs are filmed in confrontations where size doesn’t always dictate which way the encounter goes. I think you will get a few laughs from watching these animal antics and if you watch to the end, you may see a few surprises!

SignEdge: An Au Contraire Wine

Wine labels are really a new art form. With so many good to very good wines available at very reasonable prices, vineyards need a way to catch the eye of the prospective buyer.

I suppose a very bright label might spark an interest in one type of customer while a more subtle, but still clever label might attract another personality type.

As for me, I enjoy any wine label that is “different” which brings me to today’s SignEdge label from the Taub Family via the Russian River Valley.

Here is the back label which is somewhat hard to read, but I think you will get the idea that they are proud of David. S. Taub, the company’s founder.

You can read some of the history and story behind the wine at Palm Bay International.

Video: Visa’s Monkey Business Commerical

This is one of the most clever commercials I have seen in a long time. It isn’t like some of those inane commercials by a few companies who shall rename nameless. Someone working for Visa actually thought long and hard about this one and executed it well.

I think you will really like it!
