Photography – My Shot: Enchanted Forest, Tillamook, OR

Enchanting patch of forest

A beautiful scene along the South Trail of Cape Lookout near Tillamook, OR

The majesty of the forest has always had a special place in my heart. I feel a kinship with the plants and trees which are so vital to our ecosystem and therefore our lives. The picture above was taken during our hike along the South Trail of Cape Lookout which is part of Cape Lookout State Park near Tillamook, OR.

As you can tell, the mist was clearing, but still hanging in the air. This tree had an intricate web of roots which enhanced its character even if it made footing a bit tricky. I was taken in by the wonderful colors of brown and greens. This was an enchanted setting.

Kicked to the Curb: Razor Blade Runner

Description: I don’t know if you have looked down at the roads and parking lots when you travel, but there are some very unusual items being discarded in these areas. I decided they were worth recording and perhaps discussing a bit.

It seems that our current culture is leaving interesting finds for future anthropologists.

***************

While parking at our local grocery store, I saw a broken razor blade just off to the side of my front tire. It was curious to find this artifact at this location and it raised several questions in my mind.

  • Why was the razor there?
  • What was it used for at this location?
  • Did it fall?
  • Was it discarded on purpose?
  • Why wasn’t it picked up after being dropped and discarded properly?

It is truly a puzzle.

**NOTE ** the white line is the dirver’s side parking lot stripe. The car’s tire was less than six inches to the right of the razor blade.

Lifehack – A Secure Band-Aid Finger Tip

Did you ever visit a friend’s house and find that they use something in a unique or creative way? Or perhaps you see something demonstrated online showing how something considered trash can be turned into a useful tool. I think everyone likes to learn about Lifehacks and how to use things creatively.

I haven’t shared one in quite a while so I hope you find this technique interesting if not useful.

************************

The lifehack below is a Youtube video explaining how to secure a bandaid to a finger tip to prevent it from coming loose very easily. I think many of us have had this problem and will find this an interesting solution.
