A picture is worth a thousand words and thousands of dollars too!

You might have heard of the blog Humans of New York by Brandon Stanton. He is a street photographer who takes pictures of people he encounters on the streets. He has made a number of appearances on television and has a book showcasing his work.

Nobody could have guessed how is chance encounter with Vidal Chstanet would change the lives of so many people.

Watch the video below to see how photography can help change the world and how a dedicated educator and photographer can send ripples of hope far and wide.

“The blog has touched people around the world. Ellen met the man behind the camera and two incredible people he featured.”

Photography-Video Fun

I think anyone who is interested in Photography or Videography will enjoy and appreciate this short video. It is catchy, fast-paced and delightful.” For more information and to understand how it was made, see the original website posting at PetaPixel

I have always been fascinated by Kaleidoscopes and, as mentioned below, this video employs similar techniques!

“Photographer and film director Naren Wilks created this mind-bending music video by arranging DSLRs around a circular green screen room. When the perspectives of the cameras are combined and synchronized, a ‘rotationally symmetric, kaleidoscopic world‘ is created… Only 5 people were involved in the production of the music video.”

Apparently there is life after death. Bart the cat was thought to be dead after being hit by a car and summarily buried. Five days later, Bart had apparently clawed his way out of the grave and showed up at a neighbors house looking for food.

Bart is going to lose an eye, but being just a bit worse for the experience, he is expected to make a full recovery.

Listen to the news story:

The teacher is a monkey; really!

The Internet has made it possible for a wide audience to see things they never before imagined. With this mass communication media comes a few caveats and one of them is “don’t believe everything you see or read.” Keeping this in mind, however, it does seem like this little monkey is determined to teach humans his best method for crushing leaves. I think you will find this cute, interesting and perhaps a bit poignant as well.

This human learns a new and valuable life skill.”

“A monkey signals a human to hold out his hand so it can provide some dry leaves. Through the fence, the monkey proceeds to help close the human’s hand so he can successfully crush leaves.”

Kitty Carlisle’s Favorite Activity

At one time we shared our life with a cat. She was a wonderful pet and there were moments that she was cute beyond belief and other times when she was very exasperating for nothing more than acting like the cat she was. I have never seen an animal sleep more or be more afraid of the smallest object. Bags and boxes were two of her most favorite toys. For those who love their cats like we loved her, I offer the video below:

I thought this picture was amazing, not for the photographic quality, but for showing us this unusual behavior of the Alpine Ibex. How are they able to climb a nearly 90-degree wall to get to the salt licks?
