First Attempt at Artificial Intelligence (AI)

As someone who has had a life-long interest in drawing and photography, I was excited to be invited to try Adobe’s Artificial Intelligence image generating software Firefly. The program is in Beta format so nothing is “owned” by the users at this point and everything generated under the Beta is restricted from commercial use. I have been using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for years and they are top-notch products.

One thing I have come to appreciate about Adobe and their evangelists such as Terry White, is their constant work towards creating a better product and end-user experience. That is why I patiently waited for Adobe’s entrance into the Artificial Intelligence (AI) realm. It is not currently the leader in this field, but I have a strong feeling that they will eventually be one of the best.

I am also excited to be able to learn as I go and provide valid feedback to enable the Adobe team to continue to make improvements and enhancements. To quote Jim VandeHei from Axios, “We’re on the doorstep of a new age — don’t be a bystander.”

With that being said, this is my first attempt at producing a Text to Image picture. I encourage anyone who is interested to give it a try. You will have to have an Adobe ID. Click HERE for complete details regarding how to access the Beta version of Adobe Firefly.

SignEdge: A New Dog In Town

Most people who have spent a good many hours on the Internet, Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest probably have come across the very funny signs at the Indian Hills Community Center in Colorado.

You can see some of their work HERE

They are very well known among the “Internet literati.”

Apparently there is a new dog in town with a specific, animal view of many things in the world and they too have some very funny signs.

And last, but by far the least….

You can view more of the funny signs from the Carroll County Veterinary Clinic via the Bored Panda website.

Pickleball Birthday Cake

Well, I knew this day was coming and naturally I am glad I am here to enjoy it. A week ago, I celebrated my three-quarter century birthday. It has been an interesting journey and one of the most exciting facets of that journey is my enjoyment of Pickleball (America’s fastest growing sport).

My dear best friends helped my wife and I mark this milestone by taking us out to a local Italian restaurant for a wonderful dinner. I made sure to “leave room” because I had a hunch that the dessert was going to be something very special.

Sure enough, they unboxed this amazing pickleball birthday cake.

Note: The pickle and the ball are obvious, but the words on the bottom say “75 (hidden from view) and still dinking it.” The colors were much more vibrant in “real life.”

The cake was scrumptious. It had a vanilla layer and chocolate layer with a thin, tasty layer of raspberry preserves between. All the flavors melded well with the buttercream frosting.

This is truly a birthday to remember!

PL8ATUDES – January 9, 2021

Plate-A-Tude

We continue our series of personalized (vanity) license plates in Arizona. To maintain individual privacy, we try to show as little information about particular cars as possible as long as we can reveal the license plate.

NOTE – License plate photos may have been archived for quite some time. The years indicated on the registration stickers DO NOT necessarily reflect the current status of any given plate!

We hope you enjoy these PL8ATUDES!

SignEdge: A Day Without Coffee

One of my daily pleasures is the morning cup of coffee. I enjoy preparing the brew, smelling the coffee as it drips and of course the drinking of it. I think it is fitting that this is being posted on a Monday when it may be just a bit more difficult for some to get started; coffee is an activity booster!

Our local grocery store has signs on the canisters of bulk beans to entice passersby and this one captures my feelings about the java!
